Features

It's like opening an iMac pizza

  • The unique design of recent iMac models requires the cutting of the foam tape on the display to get inside.
  • This tool comes in two parts:
    • The handle is made of reinforced nylon and easily accommodates the cutting wheel while providing plenty of grip. In addition, the back of the handle features a thin prying and slicing blade to ensure you loosen all the adhesive.
    • The cutting wheel is specifically designed to slip in the hair-thin gap between the display and the aluminum frame, then easily cut the foam holding the two pieces together.

My Problem

The computer is a brand new 27" iMac. It didn't need fixing, I was not happy with the speed of the Internal 1TB mechanical drive. I got a good deal on it because I didn't get the Fusion drive. I have also heard that Apple is ripping customers off with a super high-priced Fusion drive that only has . . .

My Problem

slow HHD - wanted to put a 2.5" SSD (500GB) to replace the existing HHD

My Fix

It went very well - required tremendous patience to do it - the screen removal and reassemble are the most difficult tasks. I highly suggest to have two persons to do this.

My Advice

two persons recommended - with suction cups for slow ass . . .

My Problem

This iMac was a sad little unit that needed some SSD love.

My Fix

The repair went perfectly and the directions were straightforward. Plenty of detail for the uninitiated.

Geez, how I hate tape. The tape on this particular unit seemed to have gotten gooey over time. It took quite a bit of work to get it off o . . .

My Problem

Je souhaitais améliorer les performances de mon iMac

My Fix

Super! Aucun souci. Je n'avais pas de tournevis torx mais je m'en suis très bien sorti avec un petit tournevis plat. J'ai aussi réussi à remplacer les barrettes de RAM sans tout défaire. Une fois le ventilateur enlevé, avec un peu de patience . . .

My Problem

Replace HDD with SSD on late model 2015 iMac 27" 5K retina.

My Fix

Excellent. "Piece of cake".

My Advice

Watch the videos a couple of times and take it slow and eazy. Used blue painters tape to hold the display back together to make sure everything works while doing a system restore from a Time Machine backup from a e . . .
