  • TR6 screws are commonly found securing hard drives to their brackets and sealing the 2014 Mac Mini shut.
  • Security drilling on this driver makes sure that you won't be stopped by anything, even though this driver still works great in non-security T6 screws as well.
  • Fixed drivers for commonly used screw sizes make a great complement to a 54 Bit Driver Kit for the frequent fixer.

My Problem

Out of the box this Mini was too slow to boot up. It took over 40 seconds to see the login screen.

My Fix

I was a bit nervous so it went very slowly. I was extra careful to pay attention as it's tight in there and at age 62 my ability to focus and concentrate isn't what it once was.

My Advice

Take it slow and take pi . . .

My Problem

The hard drive crashed and was not going to spend the money for a new computer.

My Fix

The actual replacement of parts was easy, the re configuring and restoring files was a bit trying . I am not a computer guy, I am a race car mechanic, nuts and bolts are easy-peasy. All the reloading of software and rec . . .

My Problem

System bottleneck was the 5400 RPM hard drive.

My Fix

Everything went very smoothly, no issues at all.

My Advice

My Mini was the single 1TB SATA model. For this upgrade I also purchased a new Apple drive sled (elsewhere) that included the Apple PCIe connector and cable required to mount an Apple PCIe drive in the futu . . .
