My Problem

My mid-2012 unibody MacBook Pro was being throttled, no more RAM, and before throwing it out the window thought I'd try adding the RAM.

My Fix

The repair went smoothly - and I'd never opened my laptop before so wasn't sure. But the guide was clear and it went great.

My Advice

I ordered 2 Phillips head screwdrivers bec . . .

My Problem

Brand new late 2012 Mini. Wanted more out of life. So I decided a 128 Gb SSD and a 1 Tb hybrid drive and some more RAM.

This turned out just great. Except that I wasn't sent a logic board removal tool.

My Fix

Only problem with the repair is that the Dual Drive Kit did not include the Mac Mini logic boar . . .

My Problem

needed more ram and it was smooth... except for the screw driver

My Fix

the ram was great, and luckily i had my own screw driver the one here did not work very well for the screws in the laptop (started to strip them).

My Advice

the ram and ifixit (shipping etc) was phenomenal. if you dont need the screw driver, dont . . .

My Problem

My mid 2012 refurbished MBP was downright pokey, constant beach ball of death. It had only the stock 4 gigs of ram.

My Fix

I installed 2- 4 gig sticks with nary a hiccup. The guide was spot on (in some ways superior to Apple's own instructions) but did omit the suggestion to discharge any static charge by t . . .

My Problem

Needed more ram for certain programs

My Fix

I used my Ifixit tools: #00 Phillips screwdriver, spudger and additional 4MB ram. Everything went well and no disaster. The Apple hardware test confirmed it.

My Advice

Using the Ifixit instructions and the right tools anyone can replace ram. Take your time, organize your . . .

My Problem

My old MacBook Pro's battery was swelling out of the case and was a bit outdated.

My Fix

Replaced the swollen battery and pushed the aluminum back to its intended shape.

Kicked the RAM up to 8gb

Replaced hard drive with 1TB Hybrid drive

The whole process was quick and painless. The guides offered on this . . .
