My Problem

My MacBook 13", end 2009, 250 Gb, 2 1Mb RAM, worked enormous slow after loading Yosemite. The imac 21.5" mid 2010, 500 Gb, 2 2Mb RAM, was a little bit slower after Yosemite but had open space for 2 more RAM chips.

My Fix

Inside the MacBook 13", end 2009 I changed the Hitachi HD 250 Gb. I put in a 1 TB Seaga . . .

My Problem

Machine at a university with the hard drive failing (would not install OSX 10.9). Do a memory upgrade at the same time.

My Fix

No problems - the glass is awfully thin though and it would be nice to know it was held by magnets.... Took less than an hour.

My Advice

Maybe swap around steps 6 and 7 as the display dat . . .

My Problem

My iMac was underpowered for the new OSX Mavericks and other software upgrades. This was slowing it down since it began using virtual memory as a substitute for RAM.

My Fix

Piece of cake! It took only a few minutes. Fortunately the iFixit Guide clearly stated to make sure I heard and felt a click on proper . . .
