My Problem

I had 2 gigs of RAM and needed more speed for my 2008 Mac desktop. A friend of mine that's a whiz with Macs sent me your link. I ordered 2 2GB RAM chips, printed out your directions for installation and it was a snap.

My Fix

It went without a hitch. It was extremely easy. Thank you!!!!!! Now my computer is fast. It feels like I just purchased a brad new Mac.

My Advice

Go for it.

My Problem

First time replacing the RAM in a Macbook and thank god! It need it!

My Fix

It was smooth and simple! Take the battery off then punch out the old and swap with the new.

My Advice

Just the usual: discharge any electric charge, disconnect the battery and power source, get to work and get back at it!

My Problem

Yes

My Fix

Good

My Advice

No

My Problem

My macbook had a messed up trackpad so the cursor moved at random- I used the replacement part form ifixit and saw how easy it was. Having done so, I realized by hard drive was almost full and how easy it was to swap it as well as add memory- so that was the next step

My Fix

Fantastic- I have already reccomended this site to 4 people - my macbook now as double the hard drive space and double the RAM and a new keyboard/cover all for under $200 bucks

I can even now upgrade to Mavericks I think

My Advice

Before you buy a new computer, try ifixit- its makes it so easy to save money and the environment by reducing the need for new cmputers

My Problem

Old macmini on my shelf

My Fix

Good repair except I didnt insert the RAM far enough. I just needed to push a bit harder to get it inserted properly.

My suggestion is to recommend to buyers of RAM is to buy two sticks. I had two slots in my mac mini and I only purchased one stick. Now that it's over I wish I had bought two.

My Advice

Buy two sticks of RAM.

My Problem

My harddrive broke so I had to change it.

My Fix

The repair was REALLY easy and fast! No problems and now my computer is working better than ever because I put more memory in. I also got all my files and programs back because I had made backup with time machine. It was almost too easy:)

My Advice

I was taking the computer to a mac repair store, but then I found the ifixit page. The repair looked so easy I gave it a try and it worked perfectly!

My Problem

Changement de la RAM pour accélération des performances

My Fix

Très bien.

My Advice

Prendre garde pour l'iMac blanc de bien remettre les clapets latéraux des barattes de RAM, avant de remettre les barrettes de RAM en position. Sinon vous ne pourrez plus les ressortir !

My Problem

Someone here was throwing away an iMac because the screen was broken. I picked it and found I could replace the screen for $89. I let the original owner know, but he said it was too old for him. So I ordered some additional memory and an Hybrid SSD 1 TB drive as well. Yeah! I am now windowless at home!

My Fix

At first I was worried I bought the wrong hard drive, but then I remembered how specific the web site was; pretty sure I got the right thing. (I did)

My Advice

Check this web site before you throw something away!!

My Problem

The machine only had 1 GB Ram installed

My Fix

Easy : just follow the guide step by step

My Advice

Don't worry, just take your time to follow each step.

My Problem

The iMac needed a RAM upgrade before it could get Mac OSX 10.11 installed.

My Fix

The repair went well. A simple screwdriver to remove the cover and then I inserted RAM into the empty slot.

My Advice

Removing the memory that was in the computer was difficult. This required a needle-nose pliers or something that can grab the chip. You cannot remove it with just fingers.
