Overall, the repair went well. The instructions provided on the iFixit site were detailed, thorough, and nearly flawless. I couldn't have replaced the keyboard without them. There were many more screws than I expected and . . .

My sisters keyboard did not work, namely the keys she most ommonly used so they had been using the on screen keyboard. I thought that was silly so I replaced it as a christmas gift.

My Problem

The G key was not working. I just swapped out the entire keyboard to get it perfect again.

My Fix

The repair was very straight forward, the screen shots were perfect. We had a few extra screws that were not on the model in the pictures, but was easy to locate them.

My Advice

Take your time. Much of the ribbon cable . . .

My MacBook keyboard after seven years, lots of typing and one errant berries smoothie later, was missing a few keys and had totally lost the use of its delete key.
