My Problem

Problem solved by myself, with the tool Tri-Point Y1 screwdriver for replacing the battery! Without the screwdriver is just now way how to remove your battery.

My Fix

Very easy to replace 5 min max!

My Advice

If you have the same issue, just buy the tool screwdriver Y1 and a new battery! Thats'it! :)

My Problem

The old battery expanded and bent the touch pad up.

My Fix

The battery was the exact same one as the original Apple but with 0 cycles. The replacement was ridiculously easy. The guide helped. I had to unbend the touch pad which was tricky and I don't recommend it but as far as the battery goes it was a breeze.

My Advice

Do the work on a clean table with good lighting. Be very, very careful with the screws so that you don't drop them.

My Problem

Trackpad getting hard to retain a click and drag

My Fix

Had to go in twice. Gave up on removing the trackpad the first time, but after it was back together, I remembered that I did not connect its connector. They, I remembered the WD-40 trick; used a cotton swab; the tiniest flathead screwdriver I have (as the #00 seemed too large); prayed a bit, and got the screws out (although I had to put a brace underneath the surface of the trackpad so it would not move while applying pressure on the screw). Did not even consider replacing the brackets. Glad there were spares of the "tiniest screws ever made". No instructions regarding bracket replacement anyway.

My Advice

Need better advice on removing those tiny screws, and a triple-000 phillips, I believe.

However, it is perfect. (And, it was a mid-2010 13" Macbook Pro, not the selections that I cannot edit, nor were they selected when I started!)

My Problem

The old battery was not holding a charge.

My Fix

Replacing the battery was as easy as everyone said it would be. I had no problems.

My Advice

Make sure you have a well-lit workspace.

My Problem

The battery in my 2007 Apple computer had lost a lot of its ability to provide much battery time so my son gave me the URL to get an Apple battery from iFixit. The battery arrived on time and an authorized Apple repair favility installed it for only $15,

My Fix

It went well

My Advice

I'm amazed that Apple refuses to service their product that is older than 2009.

My Problem

After about five years as my main system, my Macbook Pro was grinding and beachballing and taking hours to do five minute tasks. I'd also lost use of the disk drive. The shops all wrote it off as "cheaper to buy a new one", but I was pretty sure they were wrong.

My Fix

It was honestly pretty uneventful! The instructions were thorough, the kits were complete. It took about half an hour. The longest part was waiting for my files to transfer from my external drive.

My Advice

Worth it - do it!

My Problem

battery was swollen

My Fix

it went well

My Advice

follow the guide

My Problem

My Macbook was constantly nagging at me to 'service battery', and even gave me a wizard to booking an appointment at an Apple Store to get it fixed. 2 hours later, I learned my computer was 'vintage' (2009), so I bought the battery from iFixit.

My Fix

It was shockingly easier than I had originally expected. I decided to turn up the recommended screwdrivers because I have quite a collection. That being said, I did not have a tri-wing. However, I was able to get another specialty screwdriver to work.

My Advice

This is an easy repair, however, its important to reset the SMC afterwards or your computer may not recognize the new battery and continue to nag you about its high cycle count.

My Problem

I've used my laptop for over four years, using it for things like work, school, and entertainment. Being busy and needing this technology, I saw that she was dying more quickly than I imagined. She was stuck at 63% battery health with over 1,100 cycles due to restless nights and emotional breakdowns. She's been there with me from day one. I couldn't bear (afford) to lose her at a time like this.

My Fix

Easy. Peasy. A newborn once again (it changed from 4.3 years to 2.2 years of age, which I don't think matters). My boyfriend had little tools and did it himself in just under 10 minutes. He was my hero. He held my hand while she raised up from the grave.

My Advice

Turn off your laptop whenever possible. These babies don't last forever, and neither do we.

My Problem

Broken digitizer on my iPad Mini.

My Fix

I was surprised at my level of patience. I didn't think I would be able to get through the repair in one sitting, or without getting angry at myself but I completed the whole project from start to finish in one sitting.

My Advice

Be careful of the foam tape around the LCD screen. I broke it just before placing the new digitizer and now I have a random piece of foam between the digitizer and the LCD. Most of the time it is hidden in a dark wallpaper background, but when I can see it I get a little angry at myself.
