My Problem

I left my MBPr sit on the couch for a minute while I went out of the room. My then 3 month old GSP puppy decided to take a bite out of it while he had a chance. Came back to a shattered screen with bite marks.

My Fix

The repair went great. It was super simple, but a little stressful if you have no experience with making repairs like this. Followed the ifixit guide and it took about an hour.

My Advice

Take you time. Make sure things are right. Don't let a puppy out of your sight.

My Problem

My son ruptured his 13" display on inside-bottom corner & screen turned into totally psychedelic toast. He was a very unhappy camper.

My Fix

Super sub-atomic microscopic screws, but not a problem replacing the screen.

iFixit replacement Retina Display arrived promptly with excellent quality components. They've got this figured out for roughly ½ the typical service repair cost.

My Advice

DO NOT SNEEZE or work over carpet - loose parts will instantly vaporize. Not a good thing. Take your time & all ends well.

My Problem

I dropped the laptop onto the back of its panel from about two feet and it landed on the bottom right hand corner and it destroyed the right hand side of the screen.

My Fix

The repair took about an hour or so. Make sure to touch metal to de-static yourself. It was super easy to do other than the hinges on the display which were a pain to bend to a 90 degree angle which is the only complaint I have. I used tweezers to move them but it took a while and I had to be careful not to damage the panel itself. And some sticker on the hinge which I didn't remove but probably should have. The panel I got was an A020 and looks beautiful (I changed the color profile though to my liking) with no image retention issues.

My Advice

This works for a Early 2015 rMBP. Remember to de-static yourself by touching a metal periodically while working. Remember to completely disconnect the battery pin from the motherboard when working. Work in a clean environment and organize your screws when you put them down.

My Problem

My Macbook Pro laptop accidentally dropped out of my improperly zipped up backpack and dropped onto a cement sidewalk. Of course, it fell on a corner, mashing the display and causing it to severely crack.

My Fix

I ordered a replacement part from iFixit with overnight shipping, and was easily able to replace the broken screen with a total repair time of 1 hour 15 minutes. The slowest step for me was reattaching the snap button-type connectors of the Airport antenna to the Airport card in the case. This was easy as the other ifixits that I have done for other Macs that I have owned!

My Advice

No advice–just follow the instructions carefully!

My Problem

En dormant, j'avais malencontreusement cassé l'écran de mon MacbookPro Retina 13", il était au fur et à mesure devenu tout noir, impossible de l'utiliser sans un écran externe.

My Fix

Cela a prit en tout et pour tout 20min.

Le tutoriel est très bien expliqué, je conseille tout de même d'acheter le matériel de démontage avec.

My Advice

Commander sur iFixit, le produit est très bien conditionné, commandé le Lundi soir, le tout m'est parvenu le jeudi matin. C'est juste parfait.

My Problem

Fractured display College "cleaning" accident....

My Fix

Smooth, great reassembly tips - 45 minutes and looks like new!

My Advice

Read the guide, all the way through...

My Problem

The Macbook had sustained a bump on one of the corners of the screen assembly. This dent damaged the internal screen, making about an inch of the left side of the screen and an inch of the bottom of the screen go black.

My Fix

The replacement assembly shipped remarkably fast, arriving in eastern Canada after only 2 days of shipping. The screen assembly was as described, packaged well with no noticeable scratches.

I replacement process went very well and was completed in about one hour. The downloadable repair guide was very thorough and was easy to understand step by step.

My Advice

One thing that was not mentioned in the guide is that the hinges on the replacement assembly must be moved into a position of about 75-90 degrees from the screen in order to fit into position while doing the reinstall. These hinges are very stiff by design, and I had to use a small set of pliers to position the hinges for re-installation. It would be helpful if this were mentioned in future revisions of the repair guide.

My Problem

The Macbook pro fell on the floor, damaging screen and case. To be able to fix the damage I had to replace display assembly and top/bottom case.

My Fix

The iFixit guides where really clear, I have some experience with building PC's but nothing like this. There where a number of challenges I found replacing the top case.

Battery is really really stuck, the iOpener did it's job but you have to be really careful applying pressure when removing the battery. It's just very scary when you realize you're putting that amount of force on your precious Macbook.

Apart from that I was supprised that when following the guide there aren't that many real challenges. Just be really carefull and don't stress out when you see all the parts spread over your workspace.

I found re applying the cool paste is a precise job and you want to make sure to do that properly. Cleaning the core and heat sink correctly.

My Advice

Screws

Be sure to arrange all your screws nicely when dismantling the Macbook. I got confused putting it back together a number of times. For me it resulted in one screw breaking.

Tools

Make sure you have the right tools, again coming back to screws, everything is very tiny and precise, using the wrong screwdriver or pincer can result in disaster.

My Problem

I cracked my screen when closing I left something inside and just broke the screen.

My Fix

First of all I went to apple store and the screen price with the replacement was 680€ , then I asked for a first screen in Amazon UK but the screen does´t works, please noticed that the company name is IREPAIRMAC.COM they don't test the screens and the one I bought didn't work.

I´m currently living in Ireland and I was afraid about the delivery but at the end was better than from UK.

THANKS GUYS!

My Advice

Be careful when closing your screen, make sure you don't leave anything inside.

My Problem

My MacPro 13" retina display got cracked.

My Fix

Ordered a replacement from iFIXit and received the package in 3 days.

Packing was good, and the items arrived without any damage.

Just followed their guide and youtube videos and it was done within 1hr and 15 mins.

My Advice

Costed $400 with iFIXit and i received a quote of $675 from nerds on call for the same. saved $275.

Its pretty easy so you can do it rather than giving it to a repair shop.
