first iFixit project: replaced a fan in a 2006 MacBook 1,1 and a dead battery in the same 2006 MacBook. now i feel like i'm ready to learn how to replace the display. and upgrade the 350GB HD to 5400rpm or 7200rpm or 10000rpm 2TB HD or SSH . . .

My Problem

2007 MacBook (original) fan was getting noisy and I was afraid of fan failure

My Fix

The repair went GREAT! Instructions were easy to follow, and though I was a bit nervous about opening my laptop I even got it all back together without any screws still in hand.

The new fan fan works flawlessly and my Ma . . .

My Problem

I have an old MacBook that lives in my server closet that provides three AppleTVs and all of our various iDevices with Video/Music. The fan was on its last leg and sounded like a monster was trying to escape the laptop with a hammer.

My Fix

Repair went flawlessly thanks to the great directions on iFixit.

My Problem

Der Cooler wurde zuerst nur laut, dann war das Geräusch zu Lärm geworden. Ein Austauschdes des Coolers, nach 7 Jahren Lebensdauer war notwendig.

My Fix

Die Anleitung von iFixit machte die Arbeit sehr leicht. Nach einer knappen Stunde war alles erledigt und funktionierte. Nur die Tastatur wollte nicht meh . . .

It was obvious that overheating caused the temperature sensor to shut it down.

And there was no sound of the fan, so I ordered the fan to repair it.

Fan not working, making a lot of noise, and laptop shutting down due to over heating.

My Fix

Thanks to the step by step guide, the repair was pretty simple and straight forward. Would never have known which screws to remove if not for the guide!
