My Problem

Short Description: I was an idiot.

Long Description: For a few months I thought it would be a good idea to run the boot drive for my Mid 2010 MBP from an external SSD. Better sense got a hold of me and I decided to migrate the drive back to the old internal HD. When I formatted the old internal HD . . .

My Problem

Bad hard drive or cable - had to replace both

My Fix

Very smooth, thanks to the iFixIt guide.

My Advice

This is a repair that is easy enough to do if you are not afraid to open up your computer. I highly recommend it.

My Problem

My 2009 MBP (2.53 GHz) stopped booting seemingly out of no where -- I took it to an Apple store and they "confirmed" that the HD was busted (totally believable as it's the factory original). I bought a new SSD and that wouldn't boot either. After some testing it turned out that the factory HD was . . .

My Problem

I was hoping to reconnect my hard drive. I had the "flashing file folder with question mark"

My Fix

I enjoyed my first technical repair, however the cable was not enough. My next adventure is to install a new hard drive!

My Advice

I was grateful to your "step by step" visual guide.

My Problem

After excitedly replacing my hard drive, I noticed my laptop was not identifying said hard drive! I was terrified the drive was broken or that I accidentally shocked it to death (even though I was clad in ESD safe stuff). Trying not to have a mental breakdown, I examined everything near the hard dri . . .

My Problem

Laptop was super slow and battery was shot.

My Fix

Purchased new solid state drive, new memory modules, and new battery, along with a too kit from IFIXIT Thanks to guides, everything went smoothly, except I tore hard drive cable while detaching old drive. So I had to purchase new cable and then wait for . . .

My Problem

I installed an SSD on my MBP Early 2011 model 15" using the excellent instructions on iFixit. It ran for a half hour then the MBP froze. The SSD was no longer recognized.

I reinstalled the old HDD and connected the SSD via USB and the SSD was there with no issues.

After research I found that . . .

My Problem

The problem? My computer wouldn't turn on at all.

My Fix

The IT guy at my college library advised a different cord to fix the problem, which of course didn't work so off to the Geek Squad I went. They diagnosed it with the same problem, different cord, problem solved!

My Advice

It's good to get a second opinion and sh . . .

My Problem

Original HD sata cable failed and decided to put a new faster drive in while adding a second HD in the optical bay.

My Fix

Just like the guide described...except I had purchased a HD with a 6gb/sec transfer rate and it gave me problems. Upon further research it appears that my late 2011 macbook pro has reli . . .

My Problem

incompatibilità del cavo Apple originale con dischi SSD

My Fix

Bene

My Advice

è necessario formattare gli HD usati con il cavo originale e installare da zero il sistema operativo (Os X 10.9).
