My Problem

The Trackpad's glasse was broken and the clic not working. I decide to change the complete Trackpad with a new one.

My Fix

I just followed the procedure of ifixt and replaced the broken one with the new one. It's perfectly woring.

My Advice

Take the time to clean up the fans and the dust of the motherboard. Important . . .

My Problem

I was drinking an iced beverage and the condensation on the outside of the glass dripped on the edge of my trackpad. The pointer and mouse was making the computer do things all by itself or not responsive at all. After a year of hoping it would dry out, it never did. So I got a replacement trackpa . . .

Using IFIXIT step by step instructions the repair was a success.

My Advice

Be very carful unplugging the connections, especially the trackpad. Use an empty egg carton to put screws in making sure to label the step # in the openings.

My Problem

So I was eating some sushi on my laptop and as I opened the soy sauce packet it started squirt down on my hand which got all over my trackpad. I wiped the track pad with alcohol wipes and it was working fine until the next day. The trackpad was stuck and I couldn't click on anything and the motion s . . .

Take your time, have the proper tools (don't try to improvise). Use multiple bowls to organize screws as they come out.

IFixit didn't have a repair for this particular MacBook Pro. It took me a few minutes find one on YouTube though. I was apprehensive at first due to the fragility of the cable and clamp. But I was able to use the existing cable. Gr . . .

Make sure you dispose of the battery in an ecologically responsible way.

Track pad no longer accepted clicks. Tapping and scrolling still worked but I couldn't right or left click any more. Battery capacity was well under 50% no longer a portable laptop.
