My Problem

The battery life had was less than 90 minutes.

My Fix

I ordered a battery and related tools. Used I-fix-it directions and replaced the battery in less than 30 minutes. Now operating normally.

My Advice

Go for it. You can do it!

My Problem

Battery not holding charge as long as when new.

My Fix

Repair went great. Instructions were right on. Not sure new battery is lasting any longer though. Will give it a few cycles and see.

My Advice

Clean the dust out of the computer while you have the back off. I used a computer air can cleaner.

My Problem

My mac is now going to 6 yrs and its battery is depleted till d charging light is constant green and whenever i pulled it out it wld juz die.

My Fix

Ordered the battery for my mac pro and got it within the week, mind you i stay in Singapore and to receive it in a matter of days is called efficient. So went thru all d teardown steps for replacement and now voila.. the light changed color for d 1st time in 2 yrs..

My Advice

dont wait to change the battery...

My Problem

Battery 6+years old, finally required a nonstop plug in charge. Basically, a desktop laptop. Slow and lots of beach balls was a normal function.

My Fix

So, I scouted this iFixit site and logged it for later. After reading many reviews. I was sold on the battery for sure. The information was spot on. Many review's expressed similar issues. The how to video's are totally awesome, and very direct. No time consuming yabba dabba do's and dont's. Just straight ahead, here is how to make it happen. Thanks iFixit!!!

After ordering Mid '09 MBP battery and two 2GB Ram cards and the tool kit, I decided to replace the battery in my 4GS iPhone too. I actually orded the liberation kit. I ordered everything on Saturday, and it was ready for pick up, on Wednesday. Awesome shipping. Installed the MBP battery and RAM cards in thirty minutes. Charged it overnight, and my Mac is back with El Cap. The iPhone 4GS battery was a very easy replacement too. The factory adhesive is very sticky and strong. Just take your time. The ground terminal comes loose, and needs to be installed back where it lives, after installing the new battery. Once again, take your time, and all can go well!! iFixit Rocks!!

My Advice

If anything, the 000 Phillips is a better fit than 00. Have a magnifying glass handy. Other than the tiny atmosphere of tinyness, and plenty of clean work area, it is just a smooth operation. iFixit makes it simple and fast.

My Problem

I'm an expat from the US currently living in Australia. I needed to replace the battery in an iPhone 4 and a MacBook Pro, so I ordered two batteries and some tools from the iFixit website.

My Fix

Everything arrived quickly using FedEx. I watched the videos provided on the iFixit website for each repair, and replaced both batteries within 30 min. Too easy!

My Advice

Great site. I will be a repeat customer!!

My Problem

Battery was no longer holding any charge- i inherited my sons "useless" macbook pro-

My Fix

Repair was effortless- took 10 minutes. I ordered the two screwdriver and the spudger- so easy. I also upgraded one 4 gb memory chip, should have ordered a second. - didn't know there were 2 2gb chips. Rebooted, started right up, no worries.

My Advice

Definitely buy the tri-point driver- not readily available elsewhere. Allow to recharge once complete.

My Problem

Battery gave out after 5 years on my daughters MacBook Pro.

My Fix

Replaced the battery, took less than 10 minutes

My Advice

Have or buy the recommended tools. Follow the instructions.

My Problem

Battery capacity running out; needed replacement.

My Fix

Piece of cake. My mid-2009 Macbook Pro laptop was "vintage" according to Apple Inc. They would not replace the battery on my still very good computer. Ordered the battery and tools from Ifixit; copied the very simple instructions; donated a half hour of labor. No trouble.

My Advice

Don't buy into the obsolete "vintage" pitch from Apple. Your old-ish computer is probably still a powerful enough tool. If all you ever need is a battery, then don't hesitate to do your own work. A very simple operation with good instructions from Ifixit. Be sure to also get their recommended tools for the job. Those screws are smaller than you might think, and the tool tips are magnetized to prevent dropping screws into the machine. You don't want that.

My Problem

My 13" MacBook from 2010 was really, really TIRED. The battery, specifically, was worn to a frazzle. It would barely keep a charge for 30 minutes, and that was if it was in standby. Just gasping for breath. And, while I was at it, I thought a bigger hard drive would be great, because my iTunes library is really out of control, and there's just never enough memory anywhere for me, in life or digi-life.

My Fix

I've never replaced hardware before, I don't think. At least, I don't remember ever having done it. (See comments on memory, above.) But reading the instructions on iFixit made me believe I could accomplish these tasks. This is the sort of thought process that has led me to much disaster before--thinking a task looks manageable, diving in, and then realizing I'm totally in over my head. So I anticipated serious potential harm would come to me and/or the MacBook. I tried to be systematic and work slowly, following the instructions for both the battery and hard drive replacement, since I decided to attempt accomplishing both at once. (This is the kind of decision that usually gets me in trouble.) Took me about an hour and a half from start to finish--not including the hard drive backup I'd done the day before--and...it was FLAWLESS. Seriously. Getting all the screws in and out of the case was the most challenging step in the whole process. Amazing. EVERYTHING WORKED THE FIRST TIME. And the new hard drive even came with an external drive case with a USB connector, so all I had to do was boot the laptop from the external drive, copy it to the new internal hard drive, reset the boot setting on the MacBook...and it was DONE. Obviously, I am BRILLIANT. But I'll give some credit to iFixit for helping me to see my own potential...

My Advice

This might not be good advice, but I discovered I didn't really need to backup my hard drive before I replaced it, since the old hard drive worked fine with the external case/connector. So I might've been able to get by without spending $80 on an external hard drive just for the purpose of the backup. However, that only applied because there wasn't anything faulty happening on my old hard drive--I just wanted more storage. If I'd had a faulty hard drive, then the old one would've been useless, and that backup would've been critical--so it just depends on your specific needs/circumstances.

My Problem

yes

My Fix

I've received my package very quickly and then i fix my laptop very easyly in 5 minutes.

Thank you for your web site.

My Advice
