Features

If you're experiencing bad battery life, we've got everything you need to replace it! These batteries are well adhered to the upper case of the computer so removing them isn't as straightforward as we'd like it to be. Fear not! Our kit offers all the tools needed to perform the repair and our guide shows you how to use the kit.

Part Assembly includes:

  • MacBook Pro 13" Retina (Late 2013/Mid 2014) Battery
  • Installation adhesive

Fix Kit contents:

MacBook Pro Retina batteries are originally adhered to the upper case assembly as a single part from Apple. The parts we sell may have been separated from this assembly. Consequently, the battery adhesive may have some cosmetic flaws.

Note: Lithium ion battery shipping regulations limit the shipping methods for orders containing batteries. Domestic orders may only be shipped via Standard shipping. iFixit is not able to ship batteries internationally or outside the contiguous US at this time. iFixit Customer Support will contact you if your order needs to be modified after it is placed.

My Problem

Easy replacement with heat.

My Fix

AS Barak suggested, using heat allows one to skip the speaker assembly removal and use of the solvent.

My Advice

The adhesive is strong on the batteies and the batteries seem to be poorer conductors of heat so we placed the heat pad on the palm rest and track pad, which easily warmed . . .

My Problem

Battery was down to 80% health, and battery life was getting noticeably worse. I didn't want to replace the computer yet (~$100 for a battery is a lot less than ~$3000 for a computer), and I wanted to avoid having Apple do it (since I didn't want downtime).

My Fix

Overall, the repair went fine. The instru . . .
