My Problem

My 13” mid 2012 MacBook Pro (non-retina) slowed down to a grinding halt. Doing something as simple as opening a Word document would take between a minute and 5 minutes. At first, I erased my computer and reinstalled macOS thinking this would help greatly. It did help for about a day or two before . . .

My Problem

I had two problems before this repair/upgrade. One, I had a malfunctioning optical drive - there had been a CD stuck in the drive for over two years, and my MBP would try to read it/eject it every so often. This resulted in regular, loud grinding noises. I'm sure it had a hand in slowing down system . . .
