Installing a new laser lens in your Wii's DVD drive will solve many disc read errors. This will not fix any errors associated with the drive not powering on or accepting discs, as those problems are caused by a malfunction somewhere on the DVD drive board. Replacing the DVD drive lens does not require soldering or desoldering any components.
