Macbook Pro A1278 2.5ghz. Some of my number keys and a couple of others produce multiple characters when I press them. For example I am going to press 1-9 in order and show you what results:

12`3§4]5[6=7890

Also pressing the up arrow a 9 comes up and when pressing 9 it goes up. Also the right arrow produces an 8. Its very annoying, is there any way to change the character map or something without having to change the keyboard? Luckily all the letter keys seem to be working fine. Thanks for you time and any help is appreciated.
