Bringing your favorite device back to their former lustre.
Often, the only thing an older device needs is a good cleaning. With a little tender-loving care, any device can be working spic-and-span once again. The purpose of the Refubisher's Toolkit is to enable tinkerers and hackers to liven up their aging electonics.
Whether or not you want to clean, dust, adjust, repair, upgrade, hack, add, subtract, paint, destroy, create, or anything else you can imagine that you could do with your electronics, you can do it with the Refurbisher's Toolkit.
Special Components: ¶
26 Bit Driver Kit ¶
Even though Phillips screws are definitely the most common screw, it’s important to be ready for any kind of fastener. With the 26 bit kit, you’ll be able to remove just about any fastener, anywhere. The included extension is great for accessing those deeply recessed screws found on a lot older game consoles.
- 4 mm Driver Handle - rubberized for a sturdy grip and magnetized to hold bits and screws
- 60 mm Driver Extension - increase your reach into smaller devices
- Metal Tweezers - grab hold of small screws and components

Contact Cleaner Eraser ¶
The eraser pencil is wonderful for cleaning old metallic surfaces, such as metal contacts and plugs. With a little elbow grease, the eraser makes short work of corrosion and dirt build-up on game cartridge contacts, antenna contacts, or any other dirty surface for that matter. Use the Eraser end to clean the surface, then use the brush end to sweep away the eraser remnants. When the tip gets dull, use the included pencil sharpener to put a new tip on the eraser.

Cotton Swabs ¶
Cotton Swabs are an invaulable asset when it comes to cleaning and detailing. Use dry, or with a little bit of water or your favorite cleaner. Removing dust is a big part of cleaning old electronics, and these cotton swabs are perfect for that task.
- Length: 6"
- Quantity: 1000
- Material: Cotton and Wood
This unassuming spike of plastic is one of the most useful things a tinkerer will ever wield. The ESD-safe Spudger is designed for prying, poking, scraping, detaching, attaching, routing, and anything else the enterprising fixer requires. It’s a great extension of the tinkerer's hand, and it won’t scratch or damage sensitive electronics. As a bonus, it is heat resistant enough to be used while soldering.
- Length: 5.25”
- Material: Glass Filled Nylon
Dust Blower ¶
Dust is an insidious enemy of electronics, so removing it is very important. However, there are some crevices and corners in electronics that rags and swabs just cannot reach. Enter the dust blower. This unassuming rubber tool make short work of dust bunnies and dirt both on open surfaces and in tight corners. With a squeeze and a puff, you'll have a dust-free device in no time.
- Dimensions: 4.5 cm x 10 cm
- Material: Latex Rubber
Xbox Opening Tool ¶
This tool is specifically designed for opening up the plastic case on the original version of the Xbox 360. While not absolutely necessary for the repair, the difference between using this tool and not using this tool is night and day. Able to release all of the clips holding the back side of the case together at once, this stamped metal tool will save you loads of time and stress.
- Dimensions: 13.5 cm x 3.5 cm
- Material: Steel
ESD Brushes ¶
Like the dust blower, the ESD Brushes are great for removing dust, dirt, and grime from old electronics. They will work great for clearing off old dusty circuit boards, displays, cases, and much more.
Why ESD Safe? Rubbing plastic over electronics is a recipe for static electricity, which is definitely something that you don't want around your circuitry. These brushes are made of a special anti-static plastic that won't generate static electricity, and are just conductive enough to ensure safe dissipation of any electricity that may have built up already.
- Material: ESD Safe Plastic
- Dimensions: 17.5 cm x 3 cm x 1.25 cm (small) and 17 cm x 6 cm x 1 cm (large)
Detailing block ¶
One of the biggest flaws with old electronics is dirty, aging plastic. This block acts like a super-super-fine abrasive, magically lifting dirt and scuffs from old, nasty plastic. With a little water and some elbow grease, you can restore any old electronic device to it's former shine.
- Dimensions: 11cm x 8 cm 3 cm
- Material: Melamine foam
1/4" Screwdriver ¶
Sometimes, a 4 mm screwdriver simply isn't large enough. The 1/4" screwdriver is there to turn all of those screws that are too big for the 26 Bit Driver Kit. We've included the most common large bits, the PH #2 and 1/4" Flathead, and Game Bits
This kit includes the 3.8 mm and 4.5 mm Gamebit screwdrivers. Gamebit screws are commonly found on older Nintendo and Sega game consoles and cartridges. These strangely shaped screws have thwarted many repairs, due to their tamper-proof nature. These bits also feature an extended shank, enabling you to turn even the deepest, most recessed screws (here's looking at you, Virtual Boy).
PH#2 & 1/4" Flathead ¶
These are the most common larger screw types for electronics. Keep those screws turning!
