Following our intuition, we try for the trackpad next, and are pleasantly surprised at the ease of its removal. This represents a huge improvement over the previous 13" MacBook Pro, where the trackpad was trapped under the battery. We find some familiar digital hardware piggybacking on the trackpad:

  • We also find the Taptic Engine, AKA the magic electromagnet behind Force Touch, to be simply secured with screws and spring contacts.
