      Guide Steps

      Step 1 — Turn off the laptop

      First, the laptop must be disconnected from the charger and powered off completely. To do this, shut down Windows using ctrl+alt+del.

      Step 2 — Removal of exterior screws

      The 9 visible screws, highlighted in red and orange, must be removed in order to remove the back cover.

      Step 3 — Unlatching the drive

      In order to remove the drive, the drive bay must be unlocked. To do this, move the latch in the direction of the arrow.

      Step 4 — Eject the drive

      After the drive bay is unlatched, the eject button must be pushed.

      Step 5 — Drive Removal

      After pressing the Eject button, the drive pops out, and can easily be removed.

      Step 6 — Unlatch the battery

      To remove the battery, the latch must be unlocked.

      Step 7 — Unlatching the battery (cont.)

      The second latch, highlighted, must be pushed in the direction shown.

      Step 8 — Battery Removal

      While holding the latch with your hand, use your other hand to reach into the recess and lift the battery outwards and slightly upwards.

      Step 9 — Screw Removal

      In the battery compartment, there are three small screws, shown here.

      Step 10 — Removing the housing

      First, unclip the four visible clips in the drive bay.

      With a plastic spatula or flat plastic tool, go along the gap around the housing.

      To get to the hard disk, we have to remove the left speaker.

      To remove the speaker, this screw must be removed.

      Step 16 — USB Daughterboard Removal

      In order to remove the hard drive, this screw must be removed.

      Step 17 — Hard drive removal

      The hard drive can now be removed.

      Step 18 — Transplanting the frame

      Remove the screws securing the frame

      Push the SSD back into the socket

      Step 20 — BIOS battery removal

      To do this, place the screwdriver in the front of the groove.

      Step 21 — Reassembly

      Reassemble the housing in reverse order
