Step 1 — Turn off the laptop
First, the laptop must be disconnected from the charger and powered off completely. To do this, shut down Windows using ctrl+alt+del.
Step 2 — Removal of exterior screws
The 9 visible screws, highlighted in red and orange, must be removed in order to remove the back cover.
Step 3 — Unlatching the drive
In order to remove the drive, the drive bay must be unlocked. To do this, move the latch in the direction of the arrow.
Step 4 — Eject the drive
After the drive bay is unlatched, the eject button must be pushed.
Step 5 — Drive Removal
After pressing the Eject button, the drive pops out, and can easily be removed.
Step 6 — Unlatch the battery
To remove the battery, the latch must be unlocked.

The second latch, highlighted, must be pushed in the direction shown.
Step 8 — Battery Removal
While holding the latch with your hand, use your other hand to reach into the recess and lift the battery outwards and slightly upwards.
