This guide shows one how to remove the RAM on a Latitude CS.

Not much prior knowledge is required before starting. According to Dell, however, you must have the following tools:

"‡#0 and #1 magnetized Phillips-head screwdrivers

‡ Small flat-blade screwdriver

‡ 5-mm socket wrench

‡ 7-mm socket wrench

‡ Small plastic scribe"

Step 1 RAM  ¶ 

Flip laptop over. Flip laptop over.

  • Flip laptop over.

Step 2  ¶ 

Remove the screws over the RAM door Remove the screws over the RAM door

  • Remove the screws over the RAM door

Step 3  ¶ 

Open the RAM door. Open the RAM door.

  • Open the RAM door.

Step 4  ¶ 

Carefully pull the tabs over the RAM chip down - the RAM will spring up. Carefully pull the tabs over the RAM chip down - the RAM will spring up.

Step 4  ¶ 

  • Carefully pull the tabs over the RAM chip down - the RAM will spring up.

Step 5  ¶ 

Remove the RAM from the socket and insert replacement RAM.
