Step 1 — Broken/Not Working Speakers ¶
Hold the phone with the back (camera side) facing you. Slide the battery cover off of the phone.
Step 2 ¶
Pull the battery out by lifting the black tab on the left side of the battery.
Step 3 ¶
Remove the camera cover of the phone, using your light blue wedge tool.
Step 4 ¶
Unscrew the four black Torx head screws, found in each corner of the back.
Warning: Unscrewing the screw indicated in the picture will void any warranty on the phone.
Step 5 ¶
Use the light blue wedge tool to remove the back piece, which will reveal the green motherboard.
Step 6 ¶
Remove the speakers from the motherboard by pulling firmly up on the black plastic piece.
Step 7 ¶
Attach new speakers by aligning the white squares on both the speakers and the motherboard, with the cords of the speaker facing the center of the motherboard.
Step 8 ¶
Press down on the white squares until they snap together.
Step 9 ¶
Place the back piece over the motherboard, making sure that the speakers align in place on the outside piece. (The black piece of the speaker will be against the holes in the dark grey back piece.)
Step 10 ¶
Screw the four Torx head screws back into place, securing the back piece onto the motherboard and rest of the phone.
Step 11 ¶
Attach the camera cover by snapping it back into place.
Step 12 ¶
Put battery back into place by lining the copper terminal on the battery with the terminal in the phone and push into place. Make sure the black tab sticks out.
Step 13 ¶
Replace the battery cover by sliding and snapping it into place.
