Allow the oil to drain until it slows to a drip.

Wipe the oil drain plug area with a rag or towel.

Replace the drain plug. Screw it in as far as possible by hand, then use the 14 mm box end wrench or socket to finish tightening it.

Only tighten the drain plug until it is snug. Over-tightening the oil drain plug can strip the threads or crack the oil pan.
