[* black] Place the desoldering wick on topicon_note] In the next few steps, we will solder battery leads to surface-mount solder pads. These type of joints are inherently difficult to solder because the existing solder balllead has no solid anchor point such as a through hole to hold it in place during soldering.
[* black] PlaceTo de-solder the soldering ironjoint, place a solder wick on top of wick above the existing solder ball.
[* black] Hold
ball and press down on the solder wick with the soldering iron in place untiliron. Once the solder melts and flows into the wickwick, remove it from the joint. When a section of solder wick is saturated with solder, it should be trimmed and discarded.
[* black] Repeat the same procedure on the remaining two connectors.
[* black] Lift the old battery out of the iPhone. Be sure that all the solder has been removed before pulling the wires away from the board. The wires should come free with little to no resistance
leads.
