[* black] Huzzah! The M1 iMac still uses the classic iMac adhesive, rather than the goopy iPad nightmare that we feared.
[* icon_note] This splittablesplit-friendly foam adhesive has been our go-to recommendation for exterior adhesive since we first encountered it in the [guide|11936|2012 iMac|new_window=true].
[* black] The opening procedure itself isn't so familiar, however. We still use our handy-dandy[product|IF145-219-4|handy-dandy cutting wheelwheel], but the clearance at the top is a bit tighter.
[* icon_note] A plastic frame with screw post bulges (maybe need a better name for these lol) slots into the metal frame. This makes display alignment easier, but it feels like you're maybe hitting antennas with the cutting wheel. Fortunately, everything is very well protected around the perimeter.
[* black] We slowly open the display and wait for any bobbybooby traps, but all the cables connect at the bottombottom, with enough slack to open, with no annoying cables at the top!that they won't tear from a gentle open.

[* black] It's feeling a bit empty in here—the screen takes up most of the space and nearly half the weight of the whole unit. All that's left is slim (pun intended) pickings.
[* icon_note] We can't wait to take a look at those radiator-looking bits, couldbits—could they be speaker chambers?
