[* black] Time to take a look at this year's 10.2" digitizer panel (top) next to its 9.7" predecessor (bottom):
[* black] The home button looks unchangedabout the same to us, but it's still there—no FaceIDus—which is a bit unfortunate for this tier of iPad yetscreen swaps, as last year's was no fun to work on.
[* black] This new panel consolidatedconsolidates some cablescables though! Previously, we had to watch out for three cables during opening, butopening—but now two of them are thoughtfully overlapped, leaving us with just two cablesone less booby trap to avoid. How nice.
[* black] The battery is labeled A1484 and rated for 32.9 Wh—the exact same battery as [guide|105416|last year|stepid=198954|new_window=trueyear|stepid=198954|new_window=true] and the [guide|85098|year before|stepid=161669|new_window=true], despite the extra space in this year's larger case. After the [guide|126000|massive iPhone battery upgradeupgrade|stepid=243570] we just saw, we'rewe were primed for a little disappointed the iPad didn't get the same treatmentmore here.
[* icon_note] Still, Apple seems to squeeze some extra life out of the battery this time. This iPad hastime, with the same claimed 10 hours of life as the iPad 6, but with adespite the bigger screen.
[* black] Meanwhile, here's acheck out this gorgeous close-up of that incredible 1.2-megapixel selfie cam. Such resolution!
