Introduction
This guide has only a few simple steps to get to the microphone. However, soldering is required to fully detach the microphone from the headset and install a replacement. Please refer to the soldering technique guide for instructions on soldering and desoldering.
What you need

Use the flat end of a spudger to pry out the rubber stopper at the base of the boom.

Using the flat end of the plastic spudger, gently pry the microphone out of its casing.

Desolder the two wires from the back of the microphone. For instructions on how to solder and desolder, please see the soldering technique guide.

Is a replacement microphone available from iFixit?

Why doesn’t this guide specify where to purchase the replacement mic? Same goes for the speaker replacement guide, great instructions how to replace but not what to replace them with or where to buy?
