Introduction

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for screen removal from the Vivitar DVR 785HD. Replacement of the display requires soldering and should only be considered if the reader is comfortable with soldering on small electrical boards.

Image 1/1: Locate the four case screws: two on each side of the switch plate. Using a J0 Phillips head screwdriver, unscrew the four 4mm Phillips #1 screws counter-clockwise.
  • Place the Vivitar DVR 785HD on a flat surface with the lens facing up.

  • Locate the four case screws: two on each side of the switch plate. Using a J0 Phillips head screwdriver, unscrew the four 4mm Phillips #1 screws counter-clockwise.

  • Be sure to set the screws aside in a safe place.

  • You do not need to unsolder the battery connections for this step.

  • At the corners of the motherboard unscrew the four 4 mm Phillips screws using a #0 Phillips head screwdriver and set aside.
