Introduction
Ford Transit all instruments not functioning but all lights are on. First step: go to a Ford workshop. Cost estimate: at least 1000 euros + depending on effort. Replace instruments, etc. That was too expensive for me. You might as well play the lottery. Will it work or not? Called a friend who built a house without electricity connection three years ago. We meet and remove the main circuit board from the instruments. (I would have to make instructions first). First soldering process and the instruments work. Work? 5 KM, then back to the old state with permanent light but no function. So back and solder again on ground. Works for 40 KM but the next day not again. So, what could it be? The condition changes with temperature, so when cold nothing works and after a longer time and warmth the instruments come on briefly. Where are the fuses? In the engine compartment like almost every car? Yes, but the Transit has four fuse boxes and two batteries. One battery for starting and one for the 12-volt supply in the vehicle. Before the next repair, I let the car go through the car wash, which was only thought for the appearance. But lo and behold, it drips inside, into the passenger compartment. On the passenger side from above near the windshield. Fuses – dripping – fuses under the glove compartment? That was the solution! Behind the glove compartment is first a relay box and behind that is the actual fuse box for 12 volts in the vehicle. Pulled all fuses, one after the other, and filed or slightly bent them a bit. Start and everything fits. Cost: 0 euros but a friend, time, and logical thinking. https://www.bolidenforum.de/forum/ford/f...
