Use a lint-free cloth to clean the old thermal compound.

Use again cloth with isopropyl alcohol to clean the Thermal surface.

Dispense a small amount of thermal compound.

Using a plastic finger protector, glove or a plastic bag on your finger and spread the paste evenly across the surface.

Another way to spread the compound is by using a plastic card.
