Introduction

Remove the RAM in order to replace the memory, use this procedure after completing a memory test and assuring the RAM has failed.

  • Locate the RAM cover.

  • Remove the 4mm flat-head screw on the RAM cover with a Phillips 00 Screwdriver.

Image 1/1: Remove the RAM cover.
  • Use a plastic opening tool to pry the RAM cover upward.

  • Remove the RAM cover.

  • Press the two tabs on the side of the RAM stick to unlatch it.

Image 1/2: If necessary, remove additional sticks of RAM with the same procedure. Image 2/2: If necessary, remove additional sticks of RAM with the same procedure.
  • To remove the RAM stick, pull it it out at a slightly upward angle.

  • If necessary, remove additional sticks of RAM with the same procedure.

Image 1/2: Make sure the notch in the middle of the stick is lined up correctly and push firmly into place. Image 2/2: Once pushed firmly into place, firmly push down and latch the RAM sticks to the computer. Repeat process for additional RAM sticks.
  • To replace the ram, insert the new RAM sticks you have back into the computer.

  • Make sure the notch in the middle of the stick is lined up correctly and push firmly into place.

  • Once pushed firmly into place, firmly push down and latch the RAM sticks to the computer. Repeat process for additional RAM sticks.

  • Screw the back plate of the RAM back onto the device.
