ThinkPad X1 Carbon Battery Replacement

What you need

  1. ThinkPad X1 Carbon Battery Replacement, Loosen Cover Screws: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • Loosen the seven cover screws. They will not come out.

  2. ThinkPad X1 Carbon Battery Replacement, Remove Cover: step 2, image 1 of 1
    • Use spudger to pop loose cover and slide off.

  3. ThinkPad X1 Carbon Battery Replacement, Disconnect Battery: step 3, image 1 of 1
    • Only use plastic to remove battery connector

    • Gently remove battery connector by pushing with the spudger in the direction of the arrow.

    • Remove five screws holding battery in place and remove battery.

    Mine had a fifth screw (inside that circle in the center of the battery)

bonjour,

depuis que j’ai changé la batterie, elle ne charge plus… j’ai remis celle d’origine, idem…

Bonjour,

J’ai le même phénomène que celui décrit plus haut par Franck D’ALOIA. La batterie de remplacement indique 100% de charge mais ne tient que 10min tout au plus.

Une idée ??

Minor correction to step #3 - the text says "remove 4 screws", but reality - and the photo - is that there are five screws.

Important: Note that the center one in the circular hole in the battery (under the trackpad) is a shorter length than the others.
