By following this guide one is able to access the antenna of the Skypad Skytex Alpha 2 tablet in two steps. These steps include removing any metallic tape that holds the antenna and removing soldered connections.

  1. Power off the tablet.
    • Power off the tablet.

    • Unplug the tablet from the power source if it is connected.

  2. Remove the (4) 3.5mm screws using a phillips #000 screwdriver.
    • Remove the (4) 3.5mm screws using a phillips #000 screwdriver.

    • Use the plastic opening tool to work your way around the tablet, releasing the back case from the tabs.

    • Release the back case from the rest of the tablet with your hand.

    • Do not pry the case too hard; doing so can damage the tablet.

    • Remove the metallic electrical tape, just enough, to allow the antenna to hang freely.

    • Remove all black and yellow tape, if necessary, on the motherboard.

    • Remove the soldered connections to separate the antenna wire from the motherboard.

    • The antenna wire will be connected to the motherboard with 2 connections, so be sure to remove both with the soldering iron.

    • Follow the link below for further soldering information: How To Solder and Desolder Connections.

    • Soldering irons require a large amount of heat; use caution when performing this step. Excessive heat can damage parts of your device; do not leave the soldering iron on connections for extended periods of time.

    • Remove the antenna from the tablet using a pair of tweezers.

    • The antenna is actually fastened inside the back case of the tablet, pull gently to free it from the adhesive.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
