Samsung Refrigerator Evaporator Drain Clip Replacement

What you need

  1.     • Using a spudger, pry off the cap covering the topmost screw.

    • Remove three 12.7 mm screws using a Phillips #0 screwdriver.

    • Use your hands or a spudger to pry back the plastic cover starting from the bottom.

    • Once all the clips are pulled out, loosen the cover by pushing it slightly up and out.

    • Do not pull the cover off yet; there are still connectors attaching the cover to the fridge.

    • Gently unplug both connectors.

    • Remember their orientations as it will be important during reassembly.

    • Using a hair dryer or heat gun, melt down any ice buildup in the draining well.

    • Cut out the old evaporating clip using a pair of cutting pliers.

    • Replace the old clip with a new evaporating clip.

Problem only resolved for about 6 months post clip replacement. Now every 2 months back to defrosting my refrigerator, under the crisper drawer. Now the entire section of the drain is frozen. Very frustraing.
