How do you heat up the screen to loosen the glue? Heat gun? Blow dryer? How do you keep from damaging it from getting too hot? Thanks :)

Use a heat gun it will help that’s what I would do

I tried this with a hairdryer. While there are probably options that work better, it still helped a lot. I am too much of a coward to use a heat gun, as I don't want to fry it, so I used my wifes hair dryer to the point where the tablet was very hot to the touch around the edge of the screen.

Best and safest way to heat up a device to remove screen is with a heating mat………. i set mine at 75deg

Can you replace just the glass and not the glass-digitiser unit?

The digitizer is glued to the LCD and is hard to remove without professional tools.

If you had the tools and experience, you might be able to remove the LCD with the use of a screen separation machine.

The LCD connector of my Samsung Tablet broke. Looking to order the replacement online. The tablet is working good so is the screen. Just the LCD connector that's bad. When replacing, should I let the battery die seeing as I can't see to turn the tablet off or should I just go ahead and open it up to replace the connector?

Safety first: Protective glasses and heat resistant gloves!

Performing this procedure, you shouldn't need to protect the LCD from heat, as we will only be heating the device enough to loosen the adhesive.

Obviously if the screen is cracked, I would suggest taping it together before proceeding.

Using a heat gun or screen separation machine set the temp to 60c, start at the top left corner of the screen. Don't heat for longer than a minute and you only want to loosen a inch or so at a time. Slow and steady, wins the race! Apply heat and use a thin pry tool on the corner of the digitizer. Go in about 3mm and loosen any adhesive holding the screen in place. Continue this process all around the screen to fully separate the screen from the frame.

Hope this helps :)
