Ring Stick Up Cam Camera Replacement

Introduction

In this guide, we will show you how to replace the camera in a Ring Stick Up Cam. You will need a Phillips #00 screwdriver and a plastic opening tool.

What you need

  1. Ring Stick Up Cam Camera Replacement, Battery: step 1, image 1 of 1

    • Remove the six 6mm Phillips #00 screws from the back of the device.

  2. Ring Stick Up Cam Camera Replacement: step 2, image 1 of 1

    • Pry off the aluminum plate using a plastic opening tool.

  3. Ring Stick Up Cam Camera Replacement: step 3, image 1 of 1

    • Remove the two 6mm Phillips #00 screws that were under the aluminum plate.

  4. Ring Stick Up Cam Camera Replacement: step 4, image 1 of 1

    • Pry off the back cover using a plastic opening tool.

  5. Ring Stick Up Cam Camera Replacement: step 5, image 1 of 1

    • Disconnect the battery power leads using a plastic opening tool.

  7. Ring Stick Up Cam Camera Replacement: step 6, image 1 of 1

    • Use a plastic opening tool to loosen the adhesive holding the battery in place and remove the battery by hand.

  8. Ring Stick Up Cam Camera Replacement, Camera: step 7, image 1 of 1

    • Remove the three silver 6mm Phillips #00 screws holding the motherboard in the device.

  9. Ring Stick Up Cam Camera Replacement: step 8, image 1 of 1

    • Disconnect the ribbon connector shown in the photo.

  10. Ring Stick Up Cam Camera Replacement: step 9, image 1 of 1

    • Remove the motherboard from the device by hand.

  11. Ring Stick Up Cam Camera Replacement: step 10, image 1 of 1

    • Remove the two black 5mm Phillips #00 screws holding the camera board into the device.

    • Remove the single silver 10mm Phillips #00 screw holding the camera board into the device.

  12. Ring Stick Up Cam Camera Replacement: step 11, image 1 of 1

    • Remove the three plastic spacers shown in the photo by hand.

  13. Ring Stick Up Cam Camera Replacement: step 12, image 1 of 1

    • Carefully disconnect the camera board from the daughterboard by sliding a plastic opening tool between the camera board and the daughterboard.

  14. Ring Stick Up Cam Camera Replacement: step 13, image 1 of 1

    • Lift the camera board out of the housing using your hand.
