Introduction

This process involves removing the back cover, front cover, and various other camera components. After, the button mechanism can be removed.

  • Unscrew a total of seven screws from the left, right, bottom, and back sides of the camera.

  • In order to remove the front cover, the film compartment must be opened.

  • To open the film compartment, place your finger on top of the grey latch on the left side of the camera.

  • Push down on the grey latch. The film compartment door should pop open.

Image 1/3: To remove the film compartment door, take a thin object such as a toothpick or a small screwdriver and push down on the metal pin holding the film compartment door in place. Image 2/3: After pushing the metal pin down, use your fingers to completely remove the metal pin. Image 3/3: After the metal pin has been removed, the film compartment door can be removed.
  • The following step to remove the film compartment door is optional. However, it may aid in the maneuvering of the camera in future steps.

  • To remove the film compartment door, take a thin object such as a toothpick or a small screwdriver and push down on the metal pin holding the film compartment door in place.

  • After pushing the metal pin down, use your fingers to completely remove the metal pin.

  • After the metal pin has been removed, the film compartment door can be removed.

  • Unscrew two screws from within the film compartment. These screws are located at the bottom left and the middle right and require a thin shaft screwdriver.

  • The button mechanism is only attached to the camera body itself. Set the front and back covers aside.

  • Remove the one screw that holds the front face plate brace in place.

  • Remove brace.

  • Unscrew the four screws keeping the front face plate in place.

  • After removing the metal clip in the previous step, the front face plate can be removed.

Image 1/3: Press down on button mechanism to unlatch it from the camera body. When pressed down, the bottom of the mechanism should push outward.   • Unscrew the two screws that hold the button mechanism in place.

  • Lift the button mechanism up carefully, removing the spring at the top of the mechanism from where it is attached to the camera body.

  • Remove the button mechanism.
