Introduction
The Moulinex A15453 toaster stopped heating because it's electric resistance burned out. This guide shows how to repair the burnt part of the grill. This is accomplished by bridging the burned area with an adjacent thread. Obviously, this carries a small electrical risk and the state of the connection must be periodically checked up. To minimize risks, this equipment must be used in grounded sockets and installations with a differential switch.
In any case, I am not responsible for any type of damage that this may cause, both material and personal. If you are not sure what you are doing, it is best to consult a professional.
What you need
-
-
First of all, get rid of the bottom cover and the plastic sides. For this you have to remove the screw covers; there are four, one in each corner, and both of the center screws.
-
After that, you have to get rid of the parts that hold the bread. They are held together by a spring at the bottom.
-
-
-
-
Next, you have to release the side clips; there are four in each side. Two of them have to be slighly turned, and the other two have to be straightened.
-
After that, you need to lift the sides from the inside.
-
Finally, the outer housing and resistor protectors should come out. Additionally, you can clean the grill and casing with some grease remover and water.

-
If the burnt area is not clearly visible (for example, if it's being covered by a piece of plastic), you could use a multimeter in it's "continuity test" mode to find the faulty part.
-
Once you find the burnt zone, you have to connect the line to a adjacent area. This could be done simply by bending the thread multiple times and removing the excess.
-
Ideally, the excess thread should be removed prior the repair, to avoid it moving unintentionally and causing a electric shock.
