What you need

    • Assure the toaster is unplugged.

    • Look down into the bread slots and assure that the metal tongues are not bent or crooked.

    • If the metal tongues are bent use the pliers to straighten them.

    • Plug your toaster back in and test it to see if the lever stays down.

    • (Optional): To clean the toaster, make sure it is unplugged, empty the crumb tray and then clean out all visible residue.

    • Note: Compressed air, wooden skewers, and slightly damp, lint free cloths are most helpful when cleaning your toaster.

    • Be sure that the toaster is completely dry from cleaning before you reassemble it.
