My microwave turntable suddenly stopped turning while it was heating up food. My wife wanted a brand new microwave but I thought this was wasteful since the microwave worked perfectly fine.

Instead of removing every screw to access the turntable motor I decided to just make myself an access door. This should have been built in by the manufacturer but it wasn't. I used a dremel cut off wheel and trimmed these 6 little bits off the case.
Carefully swing your new access door open. Be careful there can be really sharp edges. Here the motor has already been removed.
I ordered a replacement motor and had it on hand. Simply unplug the old one and install the new one. If the microwave is upside down the connecting gear should be viewable once the motor has been popped straight up and out. The gear was visible in the picture showing the access door.
