• PS3の側面にあるゴム製のねじカバー（黒色）を スパッジャー（※1）の先端を用いて取り外します。 ※1 先端が細く平らになっているヘラのような工具
• ねじカバーには封印シールが張られています。この封印シールをはがすと「VOID」という文字がシールに表示されます。

• スマートプレートをハードドライブベイの方向へスライドさせ、PS3本体から持ち上げて外します。

• トップカバーには固定されていない金属製の小さなブラケット（ねじ受け）があります。よって紛失しないよう注意して下さい。

• トップカバーをリアカバー端から持ち上げて、PS3の正面側に向けてこれを回します。
• 上部カバーを取り外します。
• 右上の背面角にある穴に、プラスチック製のフックがあります。プラスチック製のフックをスパッジャーでゆっくり後方から押すと、ケーシングの右後ろが外れます。
