Introduction

Use this guide to replace a failed battery in the Photive Rain.

Parts

No parts required.

Image 1/1: Pull the suction cup from its groove in the back of the apeaker. Twist and turn the suction cup as needed to remove it.
  • Power off the speaker before beginning disassembly.

  • Pull the suction cup from its groove in the back of the apeaker. Twist and turn the suction cup as needed to remove it.

Image 1/1: Remove the back panel.
  • Remove the four 8.5 mm screws from the back panel of the speaker.

  • Remove the back panel.

  • Pull the back panel away carefully. The battery and speaker are both wired directly to the motherboard.

  • Remove the plastic cover in front of the battery slot.

    • Unscrew all the screws that hold the cover to the slot.

      • Three Phillips 8.5mm Screws

    • Separate the battery from the back panel as shown in photograph 3.

      • Caution: manipulation of the device while the battery is still connected to the motherboard may result in electric shock.

  • Remove the battery from the motherboard.

    • Use a soldering pen to remove the solder connecting the battery wires to the motherboard.
