Introduction
A protective diode in the power supply was shorted due to overvoltage caused by connecting a 19V laptop power supply. The device thus receives no power and reacts as if the battery is dead. It cannot be charged either.

There is a SMD protection diode right next to the socket for the charger. On my circuit board, it is labeled D4. It is of the SMF12CA type. After removal, the device will work again. However, it is recommended to replace it.
