Be aware that most of your time will be spent getting the back off of the device. However, once in the device the repair is quick and easy.

What you need

    • Use a Heat Gun to loosen the adhesive around the inside of the device.

    • Use prying tools to lift the back of the device up.

    • I recommend prying up one side at a time and heating the adhesive to 'just barely too hot to touch'.

    • Unscrew the headphone jack from the device.

    • Unlock the headphone jack ribbon.

    • Move the wires out of the way and slowly pull the ribbon out of the circuit dock.
