internal laser modules. It is the most common
failure point on VersaPulse units over 8 years old.
Symptoms of Payro Board failure:
- CaseSaver mode activating at startup or mid-procedure
- One or more laser channels not firing
- Intermittent power drops during operation
- Error codes related to laser module status

Step 1 - Safety First Power down the machine completely. Disconnect from mains power. Wait 30 minutes for capacitors to discharge. Warning: Even with power off, lethal voltages may be present inside the console. Only proceed if you are a trained biomedical technician.
-
Step 2 - Access the Console Remove the side panel (key side) PN 0637-148-01. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the 6 screws along the panel edge. Set the panel aside carefully.
-
Step 3 - Locate the Payro Board The Payro Board is located in the lower section of the console, connected to the power distribution harness. Take a photo before disconnecting anything.
-
Step 4 - Disconnect the Harness Carefully disconnect the power harness connectors from the Payro Board. Label each connector if they are not color-coded on your unit.
-
Step 5 - Remove the Board Remove the 4 mounting screws securing the board. Lift the board straight out - do not bend or force. Step 6 - Install New Board Place the new Payro Board (PN 0636-039-01) into position. Secure with the 4 mounting screws. Reconnect all harness connectors.
-
Step 7 - Test Replace the side panel. Power on the machine. Run a full startup diagnostic. Check that all channels fire correctly and CaseSaver mode does not activate. Step 8 - Log the Repair Record the repair in the device service log with date, part number, and technician name.
