Introduction

This guide will show you how to replace the speakers in the Lenovo Yoga 920-13IKB.

What you need

  1. Lenovo Yoga 920-13IKB Speaker Replacement, Back Cover: step 1, image 1 of 2 Lenovo Yoga 920-13IKB Speaker Replacement, Back Cover: step 1, image 2 of 2

    • Flip the device over to access the screws on the back cover.

    • Remove the ten 5mm Torx T5 screws on the back cover to loosen the back cover.

    • Slide the iFixit Opening Tool under the back cover to lift it up.

    • Pull up on the cover with your hand to release the tab holding the center of the cover in place.

    • Remove two 3mm Phillips #00 screws that hold the speaker in place.

    • These steps are applicable for the speaker on the right or left. Identify the speaker to replace then proceed.

    • Disconnect the red and black wire from the motherboard to free the speaker.

    • Lift up the speaker with the iFixit Opening Tool and remove the speaker.
