Lenovo Thinkpad E540 Hard Drive Replacement

Follow this guide to replace the hard drive on your Lenovo ThinkPad E540 laptop.

What you need

    • Push the battery release switches away from each other.

    • Remove the battery.

    • Remove the three 1.2mm Phillips #00 screws from the bottom panel.

    For me a Phillips #1 was the first bit with a tight fit (testet PH #00, #0, #1).

    • Use a plastic opening tool to pry off the bottom panel.

    • Remove the four 1.2mm Phillips #0 screws from the hard drive.

    • Pull up on the hard drive to allow for removal.

    • Disconnect the hard drive and pull out to remove.
