Introduction

Removing the battery is a relatively simple task but is very important to remove power from the laptop in case power shorts any vital components. The x140e battery is a lithium-ion battery, so caution is advised when removing the battery.

Turn off your laptop and unplug the charging cable.
  • Turn off your laptop and unplug the charging cable.

  • Failure to remove the charging cable may cause electric shock.

  • Flip the laptop upside down.

  • Rotate the laptop so that the battery is facing away from you.

With tools and Fix Kits
Push the first switch on the left to the right until you hear a click. This means the battery is unlocked and can be removed.

Push the second switch on the right to the right, hold it there with your right hand and continue to the next step. While holding the right switch open,  take your free hand and pull the battery out.
