Lenovo ThinkPad L490 Display Assembly Replacement

This guide will walk you through the steps to replacing the screen of your Lenovo ThinkPad L490.

For this guide, you will need the Spudger and the Phillips #0 screwdriver. This guide may have some difficult steps.

What you need

Step 1 Lower Case

Completely shut down your device and disconnect any peripheries before beginning.
Lay the laptop down with the lower case facing up.
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove eight 3 mm screws that secure the lower case.

Step 2

Lift the lower case up and off of the chassis.
If necessary, insert an opening pick into the gap between the lower case and chassis and pry around the entire perimeter until the lower case fully releases.

Disconnect the battery connector.

Gently disconnect the antenna cables from the Wi-Fi card with a spudger.
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the six M2 2.5 mm screws from the hinges of the laptop.
Remove the port module from the laptop's hinges.
