What you need

    • Slide the left battery lock to the left

    • While holding the right battery lock to the right, pull the battery out.

    • Slide the disk drive lock up.

    • While holding the lock in the middle of the laptop up, remove the disk drive

    • Unscrew all nine of the backplate screws with a #0 Phillips screwdriver.

    • Carefully pry the backplate off of the laptop.

    • Pry the wireless antenna connectors off of the network card.

    • Be careful not to damage the connectors on the wireless card.

    • Unscrew the screw holding the network card in place with a #0 Phillips screwdriver

  7. Lenovo IdeaPad y510p Network Card Replacement: step 7, image 1 of 1
    • Slide the network card out of the connector.

I used the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 6235ANHMW Wlan Bluetooth 4.0 Half MINI Card 802.11 a/b/g/n Dual-band 300 Mbps as replacement.
