Lenovo IdeaPad U450 Top Panel Removal

Introduction

In order to get into the laptop to make your repairs, it is often necessary to start by removing the top panel. This prerequisite guide will show you how.

What you need

  1. Lenovo IdeaPad U450 Top Panel Removal, Top Panel: step 1, image 1 of 1

    • Turn the laptop over so that the bottom is facing up.

    • Remove all 7mm phillips head screws using the Phillips #00 screwdriver.

    • Turn the laptop over again and open the laptop.

    • Gently lift up the top panel utilizing the hole where the battery would be.

    • Keyboard ribbon cable is still connected. Flip the ZIF connector up and remove the ribbon cable.

    • Disconnect any wires that are connected to the top panel from the bottom of the laptop.
